What is it?
A chemical peel uses a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers.
How does it work?
The chemical solution is applied to the skin which causes it to separate, peel off, and allows new skin to regenerate. The new skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin, and may also be more even in color.
Who Is a Good Candidate For a Chemical Peel?
Generally, fair-skinned and medium complexion patients are ideal candidates for chemical peels. Darker skin types may also have good results, depending upon the type of problem being treated.
What to expect?
This powerful peel will take ages off your skin, leaving you with softer, smoother skin with improved tone and texture. Among some of the results, include visibly improved complexion, and diminished appearance of fine lines, age spots and hyperpigmentation.
During the procedure, most patients experience a warm to somewhat hot sensation that lasts about five to ten minutes, followed by a stinging sensation. A fan is used to control the discomfort.
There is very little to no downtime, most people peel for 2 days.
An average scenario:
Client receives peel on a Wednesday
Peeling begins on Saturday through Sunday (amount similar to a sun burn)
Return to work on Monday (Skin may seem dry)
